Veteran Media Executive Joins Interactive Ecommerce Life Style Non-Management Advisory Board
Los Angeles, CA, April 29, 2024. The Cielo Max Group announced today that Stuart Subotnick, former President and Chief Executive Officer of Metromedia has joined its Non-Management Advisory Board. Mr. Subotnick was President and Chief Executive Officer of Metromedia Company, a successor to the privately held partnership of John W. Kluge and Stuart Subotnick. In 1967, he joined Metromedia, Inc., as Tax Manager and in 1981 became its Chief Financial Officer. In 1983, he was named the company’s Senior Vice President of Finance and Administration. In 1986, after the liquidation of Metromedia, Inc., he was elected Executive Vice President of Metromedia Company. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Carnival Corporation (former Lead Director); The Schubert Organization; the Schubert Foundation; former member of the Board of Directors of Conair Corporation; Metromedia Technologies, Inc., and Metromedia Steakhouses Company, L.P. (Chairman). He also serves as Chairman of Kluge & Company, a division of Metromedia Company engaged in the financing and strategic development of the Company’s operations. He was Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Brooklyn Law School where he served on the finance committee. He was also a member of the Board of Directors of the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz; a member of the Board of Trustees of the Central Park Conservancy, and was a member of the Board of Trustees of Baruch College. He was formally on the Board of Directors of AboveNet, Inc, (sold in 2012); Beth Israel Hospital and the University of Scranton. He has received honorary degrees from the University of Scranton, and Baruch College, and has also been honored by numerous organizations that include the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation, Brooklyn Law School, Park East Synagogue, Jewish Community House of Bensonhurst, Baruch College, Brooklyn Law School, Jerusalem Fund, Overcoming Obstacles, Back to Brooklyn Foundation, and the Wireless Hall of Fame. He graduated from City College of New York in 1962, and received his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School in 1968, and an LL.M. in Taxation from New York University Law School in 1974. He was admitted to the New York Bar Association in 1969, and was admitted to practice before the Tax Court of the United States that same year.
